Dreams and brains and evolution

Today I have had an idea about the similarity between dreams, though only some sort of dreams, but anyway it might be quite interesting. Someone in my class said something about wanting to fly and that he has got “flying” dreams. I suddenly realized that there is a parallel in the similarity between such dreams and evolution, as there is a link between our inner brain and some of our reactions to danger, which come from realm of snakes, because this part of our brain originates from snakes, when seen evolutionary. Why should it not be possible for us to have also a part of the bird’s brain? If it were so then the “flying” dreams might be easily explained as a remainder of the bird’s brain which we have in our brain.

Even some other parallels might be found linking the evolution of brain and some of our reaction which are difficult to explain. They may have got hidden in some other parts of our brain. In these parts which in the evolution correspond with certain stage of development of whatever kind of nervous system, even animal one. Might further be, that using this idea we might even explain sexual behavior in humans and many other interesting phenomena of human substance.

A time ago, while reading some books by British experts, I realized that every animal has got only one way of courtship and that it seems to me that we humans have them all.

If this idea were correct then, we could take it as an indirect evidence for the fact that our brain contains all the brains of our ancestors. And in turn that might mean that our “flying” dreams are nothing else but a memory about our past when we were just birds.
